Hachikō
In 1920s Japan, an Akita dog named Hachikō waited every afternoon for his owner at Shibuya Station in Tokyo. When his owner passed away suddenly and never returned, Hachikō kept coming back to the station, at the same time, every single day, for almost ten years.
His story became a worldwide symbol of loyalty, patience, and consistency — exactly the qualities we wanted a business's digital assistant to have: someone who is always there, at any hour, never tired, and never absent when you need them.
That's where the name HachiChat and the Akita mascot on our widget come from.
